sighing

breath in and catch the out-breath. in the corner of her eye a tiny spark glistens. lungs hollowed out, cavernous return. when pressure builds in the cage, each rib unaccountably tightened, let the lips part and air, car journeys, plane tickets, wedding parties, rainy naps, beach holidays, baby talk and twenty billion subatomic particles flow out and up, transparent, light and dissipated.
