physical violence is a manifestation (one of many) of the symbolic violence around us.
we breathe it in.
we abandon people, we curse people, we use people, we ignore people, we reject people.
we fail to recognise ourselves in others.
it builds up.
we hoard it, we buy it, we lick it all up.
this violence.
i spit you out.
i slap your face.
i count the days til you're gone.
i murder your baby.
i eat the last piece of cake.
i divulge your secrets.
fuck you, i say. who are you to have what i want?
symbolic violence is anything but painless.
